Canadian authorities are investigating a deadly incident and subsequent fire at a military base in Alberta. Defence Minister David McGuinty confirmed that people were killed and injured, but officials had not released a full account of what happened or identified the cause. The incident is among the most consequential breaking developments in current international coverage because it involves confirmed fatalities at a military installation, though further official information is expected.[5][9]
