Authorities in Chile have issued high alerts across 10 districts as intense rainfall raises the risk of mudslides and further flooding around Santiago, where neighborhoods and hospitals were inundated and vehicles were swept through streets. Separately, deadly floods have struck Albania and Montenegro after rivers burst their banks. The simultaneous disasters are placing emergency services under pressure and pose continuing risks to life, transport, housing, and critical infrastructure.
