Russia threatens more strikes as Ukraine conflict escalates

Russian authorities urged foreign nationals and diplomats to leave Kyiv as Moscow pledged further strikes, according to Reuters. Separately, Ukraine’s seaports administration said a Russian attack on a Liberian-flagged cargo vessel in the Odesa region killed one crew member, injured three others and led to the evacuation of 13 additional crew members. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine would respond by intensifying attacks on Russian oil refineries while avoiding civilian targets. The reported strike on foreign-flagged shipping raises broader concerns about risks to Black Sea trade and possible internationalization of the conflict.
