The strikes hit homes, power facilities, shops and a medical center, intensifying uncertainty around diplomatic efforts to end the war. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia’s attacks followed the latest negotiations, while the United States has indicated that an end to the conflict could be close. The simultaneous escalation and stated readiness for renewed talks make the attacks a major test of whether diplomacy can produce a durable ceasefire.
