Nepal-Tibet floods leave hundreds dead, thousands missing

Massive monsoon-driven floods and landslides in Nepal and the neighboring Tibetan region of China have triggered one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent years, with reported death tolls now approaching 800 and more than 3,000 people still unaccounted for.[1][12][14] Entire villages have been swept away, roads and bridges destroyed, and communications severely disrupted, leaving rescuers to rely on helicopters and limited overland access to reach stranded survivors.
