The incident occurred as the aircraft approached Israel after it rapidly lost altitude from about 33,000 feet to 17,000 feet in roughly a minute, according to reporting cited by NDTV. The plane circled near the Jordanian border before landing in Tabuk, where the captain, identified in reports as Indian national Smit Machchhar, was hospitalized and described as stable. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it a serious security incident, while U.S. President Donald Trump said he had discussed the episode with Netanyahu. Authorities have not established a motive, and the allegations remain under investigation.
