Russia launches mass strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

The strikes represent a major escalation in the Russia-Ukraine war and target civilian energy infrastructure ahead of planned U.S.-brokered peace talks in Abu Dhabi next week. Damage reportedly stretches from Odesa on the Black Sea to Rivne in western Ukraine, increasing pressure on Ukraine’s power grid and civilian population as the conflict continues. The attacks follow the bombing of a school in Komyshuvakha and come amid renewed diplomatic efforts, raising concerns that negotiations could be undermined by intensified military action.
