Russia launches mass strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure

Ukraine reported that Russia fired 289 drones, 17 ballistic missiles and 59 cruise missiles, causing widespread power outages from Odesa in the south to Rivne in the west. The escalation threatens civilian electricity and heating supplies as winter approaches and raises doubts about the prospects for peace negotiations scheduled to resume in Abu Dhabi. The attacks also follow the reported bombing of a school in Komyshuvakha that was being used to distribute aid, underscoring the mounting civilian toll of the conflict.
