The earthquake struck around 10:33 p.m. local time near Nagqu City, according to authorities cited by Xinhua. The reported casualties and structural damage make it the most significant immediate humanitarian emergency among the latest global developments, though figures may change as search-and-rescue teams assess affected areas. The disaster comes amid continuing international crises, including the war in Ukraine, tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, and renewed violence in the occupied West Bank.
