The overnight attack hit strategic energy infrastructure in Russia’s second-largest city and the surrounding Leningrad region, causing large fires and disruption. The strikes came amid continuing pressure on Ukraine to halt attacks against Russian energy assets and as fighting intensified along the broader war front.
