US-Iran clashes escalate, regional war fears grow

According to multiple briefings, U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that the U.S. military is ready to conduct additional strikes on Iran "any time we want" after what he described as a very heavy attack on Iranian military equipment.[3][7] Iranian officials say the overnight U.S. strikes have killed 18 people and injured 108, condemning the attacks as acts of aggression and pledging to decisively defend Iran’s independence and territorial integrity.[7] The confrontation is not confined to Iranian territory: Kuwaiti air defenses have engaged hostile missile and drone attacks from Iran, while U.S. Gulf partners including Kuwait and Bahrain have been targeted for a second consecutive night by Iranian drones, underscoring the risk that the crisis could spill over into a wider regional conflict.[2][3] In parallel, Washington has warned that no country should assist Iran in evading sanctions, and has issued travel advisories urging U.S. citizens in Middle Eastern states such as the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain to brace for possible flight cancellations, airspace closures and broader travel disruption as tensions rise.[12] These developments come amid separate reports of Iran claiming to have laid new mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for global oil shipments, raising concerns that sustained hostilities could severely disrupt energy markets and international trade.[3][12]
