The United Nations General Assembly has voted to adopt a new world map that more accurately reflects the relative sizes of countries and continents, correcting long‑standing distortions that minimized regions such as Africa.[1][3][5][11] The projection, known as Equal Earth, is intended to provide a fairer visual representation for education, diplomacy and global policy discussions.[5][11]
