US and Iran trade strikes on oil tankers near Hormuz

US forces have struck multiple Iranian crude oil carriers after Iran’s Revolutionary Guard fired ballistic missiles toward two US Navy warships near the Strait of Hormuz. Iran says it has also targeted tankers it accuses of unauthorized routes, raising fears of wider escalation in a key global energy chokepoint.
