Flydubai co-pilot allegedly attempts to crash Israel-bound flight

Israeli officials said the aircraft plunged nearly 14,000 feet in less than 30 seconds during the mid-air struggle before passengers and crew regained control. The Indian pilot, Smit Machchhar, suffered stab wounds and was credited with helping avert a catastrophe; Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said it was too early to determine whether the incident had any connection to Iran. Flydubai halted flights to Israel while authorities investigated the motive and security implications.
