The attack is the third reported assault on the international airport this week and comes amid continuing conflict involving Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement and the Saudi-led coalition. Saudi authorities described the strike as a war crime, while reports said 309 people were injured. The incident threatens to disrupt air travel and a major energy conference in Riyadh, while increasing the risk of direct confrontation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis’ regional backers.
