EU IMPOSES SANCTIONS ON ISRAELI SETTLERS AFTER HUNGARY LIFTS VETO
The European Union has agreed to impose sanctions on Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank following Hungary's new government lifting its long-standing veto of the measures. The move comes shortly after Péter Magyar was sworn in as Hungary's new prime minister, ending 16 years of Viktor Orbán's authoritarian rule. The EU also sanctioned ten Hamas leaders and announced separate sanctions targeting Russian officials accused of systematically deporting and indoctrinating Ukrainian children. This marks a significant shift in EU geopolitical alignment on Middle East and Russia-Ukraine issues.
