LA GUARDIA SINKHOLE DISRUPTS HUNDREDS OF FLIGHTS

A sinkhole discovered near one of LaGuardia Airport’s two runways forced officials to close the runway for emergency repairs, triggering major delays and cancellations. More than 200 flights were canceled and hundreds more were delayed as the disruption rippled through New York travel. Airport officials said the hole was found during a routine airfield inspection and no injuries were reported.
