TRUMP SAYS IRAN DEAL IS NEAR, BUT NUCLEAR ISSUES REMAIN UNRESOLVED

President Donald Trump said U.S. negotiators are “largely” close to a deal with Iran that could extend the current ceasefire and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. But Israeli officials are warning the proposed agreement may leave Iran’s nuclear program unresolved, with final terms still not complete. Separately, fighting continues in southern Lebanon, where the IDF says it has killed Hezbollah operatives and an Israeli soldier was killed in a drone attack near the border.

CBS: New proposal includes Hormuz reopening and frozen assets

CBS News says sources familiar with the talks describe a proposal that would reopen the Strait of Hormuz and unfreeze some Iranian assets held in foreign banks. The plan would also continue negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program rather than settle it immediately.

Israel intercepts Gaza flotilla convoy, activists deported
