A major Saudi oil pipeline used to bypass the Strait of Hormuz has been shut down after an attack, pushing oil prices sharply higher and raising fresh concerns over global energy security.[5][7] Gulf states have also postponed key talks with Iran on managing tensions in the strategic waterway, underscoring the risk of escalation in a region carrying a large share of the world’s oil shipments.[5][7]
