The widening violence threatens to deepen instability across the Middle East and disrupt vital energy and maritime routes. NPR reported that a building owned by Saudi energy company was set ablaze and that Yemen’s presidential palace in Aden was hit, while at least six cargo vessels were reportedly attacked and sunk in the Strait of Hormuz this week.[1] Other coverage described Houthi strikes on Maashiq Palace that reportedly killed five people and wounded at least 16, as well as a Saudi interception of a drone over the Eastern Province.[8][10]
