Iran launches missiles at US-linked air base in Jordan

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard has fired missiles at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan, a facility used by US forces, in apparent retaliation for recent American strikes on Iranian oil tankers.[6][9] Jordan says its air defenses intercepted most of the missiles, while Iran claims damage to deployment areas and hangars at the base.[6][9] The exchange marks a sharp escalation in regional tensions and raises concerns about a wider conflict and disruptions to global oil supplies, which have already pushed prices back to around $100 per barrel.[3][14]
